Who is Roy Fielding?
- He helped write the first web servers to send information all across the internet.
- He also did a whole bunch of research on how the internet actually works
Why don’t the techniques that we use today work well when we need to be able to talk to all of the machines in the world?
- when Fielding and his friends started building everything talking to any machine anywhere was a concern
- then dev’s later didn’t have those requirements so you just needed to talk to a small group of machines
What is the HTTP protocol that Fielding and his friends created?
- it is basically applying a verb to a noun
What does a GET do?

it gets a resource
1. What does a POST do?
if something needs to get added to another system
1. What does PUT do? If something needs to get reaplaced in another system.
